Logan and Hillman Smith
In Luv 03
A Paper Eliza Love Story
Logan and Hillman Smith, jr., living in Thomasville, Georgia and married on February 28, 2026
How did you and your husband meet?
Logan Smith: Although we grew up in the same small town and even went to school together for a few years, we somehow managed to never have met. We finally crossed paths in St. Simons, Georgia when I went to visit some friends - and after hearing from a mutual friend that I’d be there, Hillman just happened to show up!
Was it love at first site?
LS: No, hahaha! I was studying for a boards exam and did not even acknowledge his presence until later that night. After that weekend, though, I was crushing HARD - but we did not officially start dating for another 6ish months. I actually knew that I was in love with him before we started dating!
where was your first date?
LS: Within the first 2-3 months of us meeting there were several group boat days, dinners, and nights out.. but it wasn’t until later that Hillman took me to his family farm in Cairo, Georgia and made his signature chicken parmesan. Honestly so impressive, haha!
where was your first kiss?
LS: In the back seat of someone’s car after over indulging in 2 for 1 margs at the local Mexican restaurant - so classy!
how did you know he was the one?
LS: We share all the same hobbies, likes and dislikes - my family loved him, I loved his family… It was honestly so easy. There was never a question of if he was the one, only when!
who said they loved each other first?
LS: Hillman! I think we both knew we loved each other for a while before he finally said it!
what is your proposal story?
LS: About three months before Hillman actually proposed, his mom calls him while we are driving and they are talking over the truck speaker. The first words out of her mouth “Have you spoken with the jeweler?” Hillman quickly responds with “Logan is sitting here with me”... HA! I tried my best to act like I wasn’t paying attention. Mostly because i was internally freaking out - but also because I was determined not to ruin a single surprise. It was at this point that we had discussed rings and proposals. I very confidently said I do not want to know anything and I want it to be a surprise, thinking I was making his life easier… Looking back now, I cannot even imagine the stress I was unknowingly putting him through LOL.
Hillman planned a weekend trip to Apalachicola to go fishing (very on brand for us). I got off work late and was taking my sweet time packing. And he was spiraling. Turns out he had made dinner reservations at a nice spot in Apalach - The Owl Cafe… which is when my internal alarm bells started going off. We finally make it down there, and we’re sitting at dinner wildly overdressed (because he insisted we wear something nice) and he starts talking about how we’re going to go help a friend “look for bait traps.” This is when I was like “sorry, what?…” So we get on the boat, pull up to the “bait trap location,” and I turn around… and Hillman is on one knee!!!
Turns out, this man had it ALL planned - photographer, our entire family waiting back at the house, and his sister even packed extra outfits for me for the weekend! It was the sweetest weekend!!
where was your wedding?
LS: Apalachicola, Florida! The best weekend ever!!!
describe your paper eliza vision in 3 words.
LS: Classic, fun, and forgotten coast (not nautical)
Were there any elements, icons, illustrations, or themes that you felt represented you and your spouse that you wanted to include?.
LS: I wanted our guests to be able to look at the invitation and know who was getting married before even seeing the names. A nod to Apalachicola and the forgotten coast, our pups, the flowers used at our wedding and our favorite drinks!
Eliza was so helpful, so patient, and SO incredibly good at what she does. She made the whole experience so easy and fun and delivered the whole suite just as I had envisioned!
